| CVE-2021-47587 | 1 Linux | 1 Linux Kernel | 2026-08-04 | 9.8 Critical |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: net: systemport: Add global locking for descriptor lifecycle The descriptor list is a shared resource across all of the transmit queues, and the locking mechanism used today only protects concurrency across a given transmit queue between the transmit and reclaiming. This creates an opportunity for the SYSTEMPORT hardware to work on corrupted descriptors if we have multiple producers at once which is the case when using multiple transmit queues. This was particularly noticeable when using multiple flows/transmit queues and it showed up in interesting ways in that UDP packets would get a correct UDP header checksum being calculated over an incorrect packet length. Similarly TCP packets would get an equally correct checksum computed by the hardware over an incorrect packet length. The SYSTEMPORT hardware maintains an internal descriptor list that it re-arranges when the driver produces a new descriptor anytime it writes to the WRITE_PORT_{HI,LO} registers, there is however some delay in the hardware to re-organize its descriptors and it is possible that concurrent TX queues eventually break this internal allocation scheme to the point where the length/status part of the descriptor gets used for an incorrect data buffer. The fix is to impose a global serialization for all TX queues in the short section where we are writing to the WRITE_PORT_{HI,LO} registers which solves the corruption even with multiple concurrent TX queues being used. | ||||

| CVE-2021-47577 | 1 Linux | 1 Linux Kernel | 2026-08-04 | 7.8 High |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: io-wq: check for wq exit after adding new worker task_work We check IO_WQ_BIT_EXIT before attempting to create a new worker, and wq exit cancels pending work if we have any. But it's possible to have a race between the two, where creation checks exit finding it not set, but we're in the process of exiting. The exit side will cancel pending creation task_work, but there's a gap where we add task_work after we've canceled existing creations at exit time. Fix this by checking the EXIT bit post adding the creation task_work. If it's set, run the same cancelation that exit does. | ||||

| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: net: vlan: fix underflow for the real_dev refcnt Inject error before dev_hold(real_dev) in register_vlan_dev(), and execute the following testcase: ip link add dev dummy1 type dummy ip link add name dummy1.100 link dummy1 type vlan id 100 ip link del dev dummy1 When the dummy netdevice is removed, we will get a WARNING as following: ======================================================================= refcount_t: decrement hit 0; leaking memory. WARNING: CPU: 2 PID: 0 at lib/refcount.c:31 refcount_warn_saturate+0xbf/0x1e0 and an endless loop of: ======================================================================= unregister_netdevice: waiting for dummy1 to become free. Usage count = -1073741824 That is because dev_put(real_dev) in vlan_dev_free() be called without dev_hold(real_dev) in register_vlan_dev(). It makes the refcnt of real_dev underflow. Move the dev_hold(real_dev) to vlan_dev_init() which is the call-back of ndo_init(). That makes dev_hold() and dev_put() for vlan's real_dev symmetrical. | ||||
| CVE-2021-47552 | 1 Linux | 1 Linux Kernel | 2026-08-04 | 7.8 High |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: blk-mq: cancel blk-mq dispatch work in both blk_cleanup_queue and disk_release() For avoiding to slow down queue destroy, we don't call blk_mq_quiesce_queue() in blk_cleanup_queue(), instead of delaying to cancel dispatch work in blk_release_queue(). However, this way has caused kernel oops[1], reported by Changhui. The log shows that scsi_device can be freed before running blk_release_queue(), which is expected too since scsi_device is released after the scsi disk is closed and the scsi_device is removed. Fixes the issue by canceling blk-mq dispatch work in both blk_cleanup_queue() and disk_release(): 1) when disk_release() is run, the disk has been closed, and any sync dispatch activities have been done, so canceling dispatch work is enough to quiesce filesystem I/O dispatch activity. 2) in blk_cleanup_queue(), we only focus on passthrough request, and passthrough request is always explicitly allocated & freed by its caller, so once queue is frozen, all sync dispatch activity for passthrough request has been done, then it is enough to just cancel dispatch work for avoiding any dispatch activity. | In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: tcp: fix page frag corruption on page fault Steffen reported a TCP stream corruption for HTTP requests served by the apache web-server using a cifs mount-point and memory mapping the relevant file. The root cause is quite similar to the one addressed by commit 20eb4f29b602 ("net: fix sk_page_frag() recursion from memory reclaim"). Here the nested access to the task page frag is caused by a page fault on the (mmapped) user-space memory buffer coming from the cifs file. The page fault handler performs an smb transaction on a different socket, inside the same process context. Since sk->sk_allaction for such socket does not prevent the usage for the task_frag, the nested allocation modify "under the hood" the page frag in use by the outer sendmsg call, corrupting the stream. The overall relevant stack trace looks like the following: httpd 78268 [001] 3461630.850950: probe:tcp_sendmsg_locked: ffffffff91461d91 tcp_sendmsg_locked+0x1 ffffffff91462b57 tcp_sendmsg+0x27 ffffffff9139814e sock_sendmsg+0x3e ffffffffc06dfe1d smb_send_kvec+0x28 [...] ffffffffc06cfaf8 cifs_readpages+0x213 ffffffff90e83c4b read_pages+0x6b ffffffff90e83f31 __do_page_cache_readahead+0x1c1 ffffffff90e79e98 filemap_fault+0x788 ffffffff90eb0458 __do_fault+0x38 ffffffff90eb5280 do_fault+0x1a0 ffffffff90eb7c84 __handle_mm_fault+0x4d4 ffffffff90eb8093 handle_mm_fault+0xc3 ffffffff90c74f6d __do_page_fault+0x1ed ffffffff90c75277 do_page_fault+0x37 ffffffff9160111e page_fault+0x1e ffffffff9109e7b5 copyin+0x25 ffffffff9109eb40 _copy_from_iter_full+0xe0 ffffffff91462370 tcp_sendmsg_locked+0x5e0 ffffffff91462370 tcp_sendmsg_locked+0x5e0 ffffffff91462b57 tcp_sendmsg+0x27 ffffffff9139815c sock_sendmsg+0x4c ffffffff913981f7 sock_write_iter+0x97 ffffffff90f2cc56 do_iter_readv_writev+0x156 ffffffff90f2dff0 do_iter_write+0x80 ffffffff90f2e1c3 vfs_writev+0xa3 ffffffff90f2e27c do_writev+0x5c ffffffff90c042bb do_syscall_64+0x5b ffffffff916000ad entry_SYSCALL_64_after_hwframe+0x65 The cifs filesystem rightfully sets sk_allocations to GFP_NOFS, we can avoid the nesting using the sk page frag for allocation lacking the __GFP_FS flag. Do not define an additional mm-helper for that, as this is strictly tied to the sk page frag usage. v1 -> v2: - use a stricted sk_page_frag() check instead of reordering the code (Eric) | ||||

That leads to a KASAN warning (this was on the chromeos-5.4 kernel, which has the problematic commit backported to it): BUG: KASAN: slab-out-of-bounds in _a6xx_get_gmu_registers+0x144/0x430 Write of size 8 at addr ffffff80c89432b0 by task A618-worker/209 CPU: 5 PID: 209 Comm: A618-worker Tainted: G W 5.4.156-lockdep #22 Hardware name: Google Lazor Limozeen without Touchscreen (rev5 - rev8) (DT) Call trace: dump_backtrace+0x0/0x248 show_stack+0x20/0x2c dump_stack+0x128/0x1ec print_address_description+0x88/0x4a0 __kasan_report+0xfc/0x120 kasan_report+0x10/0x18 __asan_report_store8_noabort+0x1c/0x24 _a6xx_get_gmu_registers+0x144/0x430 a6xx_gpu_state_get+0x330/0x25d4 msm_gpu_crashstate_capture+0xa0/0x84c recover_worker+0x328/0x838 kthread_worker_fn+0x32c/0x574 kthread+0x2dc/0x39c ret_from_fork+0x10/0x18 Allocated by task 209: __kasan_kmalloc+0xfc/0x1c4 kasan_kmalloc+0xc/0x14 kmem_cache_alloc_trace+0x1f0/0x2a0 a6xx_gpu_state_get+0x164/0x25d4 msm_gpu_crashstate_capture+0xa0/0x84c recover_worker+0x328/0x838 kthread_worker_fn+0x32c/0x574 kthread+0x2dc/0x39c ret_from_fork+0x10/0x18 | ||||

| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: seg6: fix the iif in the IPv6 socket control block When an IPv4 packet is received, the ip_rcv_core(...) sets the receiving interface index into the IPv4 socket control block (v5.16-rc4, net/ipv4/ip_input.c line 510): IPCB(skb)->iif = skb->skb_iif; If that IPv4 packet is meant to be encapsulated in an outer IPv6+SRH header, the seg6_do_srh_encap(...) performs the required encapsulation. In this case, the seg6_do_srh_encap function clears the IPv6 socket control block (v5.16-rc4 net/ipv6/seg6_iptunnel.c line 163): memset(IP6CB(skb), 0, sizeof(*IP6CB(skb))); The memset(...) was introduced in commit ef489749aae5 ("ipv6: sr: clear IP6CB(skb) on SRH ip4ip6 encapsulation") a long time ago (2019-01-29). Since the IPv6 socket control block and the IPv4 socket control block share the same memory area (skb->cb), the receiving interface index info is lost (IP6CB(skb)->iif is set to zero). As a side effect, that condition triggers a NULL pointer dereference if commit 0857d6f8c759 ("ipv6: When forwarding count rx stats on the orig netdev") is applied. To fix that issue, we set the IP6CB(skb)->iif with the index of the receiving interface once again. | ||||

| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: nfsd: fix use-after-free due to delegation race A delegation break could arrive as soon as we've called vfs_setlease. A delegation break runs a callback which immediately (in nfsd4_cb_recall_prepare) adds the delegation to del_recall_lru. If we then exit nfs4_set_delegation without hashing the delegation, it will be freed as soon as the callback is done with it, without ever being removed from del_recall_lru. Symptoms show up later as use-after-free or list corruption warnings, usually in the laundromat thread. I suspect aba2072f4523 "nfsd: grant read delegations to clients holding writes" made this bug easier to hit, but I looked as far back as v3.0 and it looks to me it already had the same problem. So I'm not sure where the bug was introduced; it may have been there from the beginning. | ||||

| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: ASoC: codecs: wcd934x: handle channel mappping list correctly Currently each channel is added as list to dai channel list, however there is danger of adding same channel to multiple dai channel list which endups corrupting the other list where its already added. This patch ensures that the channel is actually free before adding to the dai channel list and also ensures that the channel is on the list before deleting it. This check was missing previously, and we did not hit this issue as we were testing very simple usecases with sequence of amixer commands. | ||||

| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: cfg80211: fix management registrations locking The management registrations locking was broken, the list was locked for each wdev, but cfg80211_mgmt_registrations_update() iterated it without holding all the correct spinlocks, causing list corruption. Rather than trying to fix it with fine-grained locking, just move the lock to the wiphy/rdev (still need the list on each wdev), we already need to hold the wdev lock to change it, so there's no contention on the lock in any case. This trivially fixes the bug since we hold one wdev's lock already, and now will hold the lock that protects all lists. | ||||
