| CVE-2026-55165 | 1 Netflix | 1 Lemur | 2026-08-18 | 4.8 Medium |
| Lemur manages TLS certificate creation. Prior to 1.9.2, the JWT verifier in lemur/auth/service.py:130-137 used fetch_token_header to read header_data["alg"] from an unverified token and passed that attacker-controlled value to decode_with_multiple_secrets. PyJWT 2.x rejects alg=none with the configured key, so the flaw is a defense-in-depth gap rather than a direct authentication bypass in the shipped configuration. The unpinned algorithm can become exploitable after an asymmetric-signing migration through algorithm confusion, and it weakens algorithm-based anomaly detection because the token chooses the recorded value. A separate disclosure of LEMUR_TOKEN_SECRET would also permit forged HS256 tokens, although that disclosure is an independent prerequisite. The fix introduces the server-controlled LEMUR_TOKEN_ALGORITHMS allowlist and defaults it to HS256. This issue is fixed in version 1.9.2. | ||||
| CVE-2026-55166 | 1 Netflix | 1 Lemur | 2026-08-18 | 9.9 Critical |
| Lemur manages TLS certificate creation. Prior to 1.9.2, authenticated users could influence an ACME authority acme_url without an effective server-side destination restriction and trigger AcmeHandler.setup_acme_client to make backend requests. An attacker could target cloud instance metadata or internal services from Lemur network context, potentially obtaining credentials available to the host. The advisory also identifies creator-equality authorization behavior that could preserve access to certificate key material after ownership or role changes, with insufficient export_private_key audit context to distinguish that access path. Together, the acme_url server-side request forgery and authorization weakness could expose cloud credentials and long-lived PKI private-key access. The fix adds ACME_DIRECTORY_HOST_ALLOWLIST validation and enriches key-export audit events with creator and current-owner context. This issue is fixed in version 1.9.2. | ||||
| CVE-2026-71308 | 1 Netflix | 1 Lemur | 2026-08-18 | 8.1 High |
| Lemur manages TLS certificate creation. From 0.5.0 until 1.9.3, certificate create, upload, and edit requests accepted replaces[] or replacements identifiers that AssociatedCertificateSchema resolved with fetch_objects without a CertificatePermission check. Assigning those objects to Certificate.replaces invoked an append listener that disabled the victim certificate notifications and marked it as replaced. The victim was then excluded from get_all_pending_reissue, and certificate_rotate could deploy the attacker certificate to endpoints serving the victim. An authenticated non-read-only user could target certificates for which the user had no ownership or role, suppress lifecycle automation, and cause fleet-wide TLS disruption or unauthorized substitution. The fix authorizes every referenced replacement certificate before mutation. This issue is fixed in version 1.9.3. | ||||
| CVE-2026-71307 | 1 Netflix | 1 Lemur | 2026-08-18 | 7.7 High |
| Lemur manages TLS certificate creation. Prior to 1.9.3, GET /api/1/destinations and GET /api/1/destinations/ relied only on authentication while sibling write handlers required admin_permission. DestinationOutputSchema returned raw options and copied them into pluginOptions without redacting sensitive values. The sftp-destination plugin stored password and privateKeyPass values in plaintext, allowing even a read-only user to retrieve credentials for remote certificate-deployment hosts. The exposed credentials could permit direct access to SFTP systems and TLS material outside the Lemur security boundary. The fix requires administrator permission for destination reads and redacts options marked sensitive. This issue is fixed in version 1.9.3. | ||||
| CVE-2026-73529 | 1 Alextselegidis | 1 Plainpad | 2026-08-18 | 5.3 Medium |
| Plainpad through 1.1.1, fixed in commit d3823fc, contains a missing rate limiting vulnerability that allows unauthenticated attackers to send unbounded login requests to the POST /v1/sessions endpoint due to dead code in App\Http\Kernel.php that is never instantiated under the Laravel 11+ skeleton, leaving the API throttle configuration unattached to any route. Attackers can exploit this by sending unlimited credential attempts with no lockout or CAPTCHA enforcement, and additionally trigger CPU exhaustion by forcing repeated bcrypt comparisons on each request. | ||||
| CVE-2026-52736 | 1 Zcashfoundation | 1 Zebra | 2026-08-18 | N/A |
| ZEBRA is a Zcash node written entirely in Rust. Prior to 4.5.0, a remote unauthenticated P2P peer can stall a Zebra node by racing an invalid block body against the valid canonical body for the same block header hash. ZIP-244 permits the attacker to mutate coinbase scriptSig authentication data while retaining the transaction identifiers, merkle root, and block header hash, so the poisoned body fails later commitment validation but shares the canonical hash. In zebra-state/src/service.rs, queue_and_commit_to_non_finalized_state recorded the hash in non_finalized_block_write_sent_hashes before contextual validation completed and did not remove it when the write task rejected the body. When the honest body later arrived, the cached hash caused KnownBlock::WriteChannel duplicate handling to suppress it, leaving the node stuck one height behind until restart or reorganization. This issue is fixed in version 4.5.0. | ||||
| CVE-2026-12520 | 1 Zephyrproject | 1 Zephyr | 2026-08-18 | 6.4 Medium |
| The Sierra Wireless HL7800 cellular modem driver (drivers/modem/vendor_standalone/hl7800.c, located at drivers/modem/hl7800.c in v4.4.0 and earlier) parses AT responses with roughly twenty handlers that call net_buf_linearize(value, sizeof(value), *buf, 0, len) into a 128-byte stack buffer and then write value[out_len] = 0. Because net_buf_linearize() (lib/net_buf/buf.c) can return a count equal to its destination-length argument, a field that exactly fills the buffer makes the terminating NUL land one byte past the end, a single-byte out-of-bounds write into adjacent stack memory. The +KCELLMEAS cell-measurement handler on_cmd_atcmdinfo_rssi() is worse: it passed the wire length len as the destination size (net_buf_linearize(value, len, *buf, 0, len)), so a response line longer than 128 bytes overflows the value stack buffer with attacker-influenceable content. The line length comes from net_buf_findcrlf(), which accumulates bytes across the whole net_buf fragment chain and is not bounded to 128, so an over-long line reaches the defect. The data originates from the cellular modem over UART, driven by the network: operator-scan results, +CGCONTRDP IP/DNS info, socket indications, and +KCELLMEAS neighbour-cell reports. An attacker able to shape what the modem emits — a rogue base station, a compromised modem baseband, or a remote peer feeding oversized response framing — can drive a line past 128 bytes. The handlers run in the driver's RX thread in kernel context, so the corruption is kernel-side. The +KCELLMEAS path is a full stack buffer overflow whose worst case is code execution in kernel context and whose floor is a reliable crash; the remaining sites are single-byte NUL out-of-bounds writes. Exploitation requires the modem to emit an over-long AT response line, giving high attack complexity over an adjacent (cellular radio) vector. The fix passes sizeof(dst) - 1 (and correct explicit bounds for the IMSI and +KCELLMEAS sites) so the terminator always stays in bounds. | ||||
