| CVE-2022-48985 | 1 Linux | 1 Linux Kernel | 2026-08-04 | 9.8 Critical |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: net: mana: Fix race on per-CQ variable napi work_done After calling napi_complete_done(), the NAPIF_STATE_SCHED bit may be cleared, and another CPU can start napi thread and access per-CQ variable, cq->work_done. If the other thread (for example, from busy_poll) sets it to a value >= budget, this thread will continue to run when it should stop, and cause memory corruption and panic. To fix this issue, save the per-CQ work_done variable in a local variable before napi_complete_done(), so it won't be corrupted by a possible concurrent thread after napi_complete_done(). Also, add a flag bit to advertise to the NIC firmware: the NAPI work_done variable race is fixed, so the driver is able to reliably support features like busy_poll. | ||||

| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: KVM: x86/mmu: make apf token non-zero to fix bug In current async pagefault logic, when a page is ready, KVM relies on kvm_arch_can_dequeue_async_page_present() to determine whether to deliver a READY event to the Guest. This function test token value of struct kvm_vcpu_pv_apf_data, which must be reset to zero by Guest kernel when a READY event is finished by Guest. If value is zero meaning that a READY event is done, so the KVM can deliver another. But the kvm_arch_setup_async_pf() may produce a valid token with zero value, which is confused with previous mention and may lead the loss of this READY event. This bug may cause task blocked forever in Guest: INFO: task stress:7532 blocked for more than 1254 seconds. | CVE-2022-48941 | 1 Linux | 1 Linux Kernel | 2026-08-04 | 8.8 High |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: ice: fix concurrent reset and removal of VFs Commit c503e63200c6 ("ice: Stop processing VF messages during teardown") introduced a driver state flag, ICE_VF_DEINIT_IN_PROGRESS, which is intended to prevent some issues with concurrently handling messages from VFs while tearing down the VFs. This change was motivated by crashes caused while tearing down and bringing up VFs in rapid succession. It turns out that the fix actually introduces issues with the VF driver caused because the PF no longer responds to any messages sent by the VF during its .remove routine. This results in the VF potentially removing its DMA memory before the PF has shut down the device queues. Additionally, the fix doesn't actually resolve concurrency issues within the ice driver. It is possible for a VF to initiate a reset just prior to the ice driver removing VFs. This can result in the remove task concurrently operating while the VF is being reset. This results in similar memory corruption and panics purportedly fixed by that commit. Fix this concurrency at its root by protecting both the reset and removal flows using the existing VF cfg_lock. This ensures that we cannot remove the VF while any outstanding critical tasks such as a virtchnl message or a reset are occurring. This locking change also fixes the root cause originally fixed by commit c503e63200c6 ("ice: Stop processing VF messages during teardown"), so we can simply revert it. Note that I kept these two changes together because simply reverting the original commit alone would leave the driver vulnerable to worse race conditions. | ||||

| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: bpf: Fix crash due to incorrect copy_map_value When both bpf_spin_lock and bpf_timer are present in a BPF map value, copy_map_value needs to skirt both objects when copying a value into and out of the map. However, the current code does not set both s_off and t_off in copy_map_value, which leads to a crash when e.g. bpf_spin_lock is placed in map value with bpf_timer, as bpf_map_update_elem call will be able to overwrite the other timer object. When the issue is not fixed, an overwriting can produce the following splat: [root@(none) bpf]# ./test_progs -t timer_crash [ 15.930339] bpf_testmod: loading out-of-tree module taints kernel. This mostly results in stuck read syscall but sometimes when using btrfs send can get #GP kernel: general protection fault, probably for non-canonical address 0x841551d5c1000: 0000 [#1] PREEMPT SMP NOPTI kernel: CPU: 17 PID: 264 Comm: kworker/u256:7 Tainted: P OE 5.17.0-rc2-1 #12 kernel: Workqueue: btrfs-endio btrfs_work_helper [btrfs] kernel: RIP: 0010:lzo_decompress_bio (./include/linux/fortify-string.h:225 fs/btrfs/lzo.c:322 fs/btrfs/lzo.c:394) btrfs Code starting with the faulting instruction =========================================== 0:* 48 8b 06 mov (%rsi),%rax <-- trapping instruction 3: 48 8d 79 08 lea 0x8(%rcx),%rdi 7: 48 83 e7 f8 and $0xfffffffffffffff8,%rdi b: 48 89 01 mov %rax,(%rcx) e: 44 89 f0 mov %r14d,%eax 11: 48 8b 54 06 f8 mov -0x8(%rsi,%rax,1),%rdx kernel: RSP: 0018:ffffb110812efd50 EFLAGS: 00010212 kernel: RAX: 0000000000001000 RBX: 000000009ca264c8 RCX: ffff98996e6d8ff8 kernel: RDX: 0000000000000064 RSI: 000841551d5c1000 RDI: ffffffff9500435d kernel: RBP: ffff989a3be856c0 R08: 0000000000000000 R09: 0000000000000000 kernel: R10: 0000000000000000 R11: 0000000000001000 R12: ffff98996e6d8000 kernel: R13: 0000000000000008 R14: 0000000000001000 R15: 000841551d5c1000 kernel: FS: 0000000000000000(0000) GS:ffff98a09d640000(0000) knlGS:0000000000000000 kernel: CS: 0010 DS: 0000 ES: 0000 CR0: 0000000080050033 kernel: CR2: 00001e9f984d9ea8 CR3: 000000014971a000 CR4: 00000000003506e0 kernel: Call Trace: kernel: <TASK> kernel: end_compressed_bio_read (fs/btrfs/compression.c:104 fs/btrfs/compression.c:1363 fs/btrfs/compression.c:323) btrfs kernel: end_workqueue_fn (fs/btrfs/disk-io.c:1923) btrfs kernel: btrfs_work_helper (fs/btrfs/async-thread.c:326) btrfs kernel: process_one_work (./arch/x86/include/asm/jump_label.h:27 ./include/linux/jump_label.h:212 ./include/trace/events/workqueue.h:108 kernel/workqueue.c:2312) kernel: worker_thread (./include/linux/list.h:292 kernel/workqueue.c:2455) kernel: ? process_one_work (kernel/workqueue.c:2397) kernel: kthread (kernel/kthread.c:377) kernel: ? kthread_complete_and_exit (kernel/kthread.c:332) kernel: ret_from_fork (arch/x86/entry/entry_64.S:301) kernel: </TASK> | ||||

| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: drm/virtio: Fix GEM handle creation UAF Userspace can guess the handle value and try to race GEM object creation with handle close, resulting in a use-after-free if we dereference the object after dropping the handle's reference. For that reason, dropping the handle's reference must be done *after* we are done dereferencing the object. | ||||

| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: drm/vmwgfx: Remove rcu locks from user resources User resource lookups used rcu to avoid two extra atomics. Unfortunately the rcu paths were buggy and it was easy to make the driver crash by submitting command buffers from two different threads. Because the lookups never show up in performance profiles replace them with a regular spin lock which fixes the races in accesses to those shared resources. Fixes kernel oops'es in IGT's vmwgfx execution_buffer stress test and seen crashes with apps using shared resources. | ||||

| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: misc: fastrpc: Fix use-after-free race condition for maps It is possible that in between calling fastrpc_map_get() until map->fl->lock is taken in fastrpc_free_map(), another thread can call fastrpc_map_lookup() and get a reference to a map that is about to be deleted. Rewrite fastrpc_map_get() to only increase the reference count of a map if it's non-zero. Propagate this to callers so they can know if a map is about to be deleted. | In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: tty: serial: qcom-geni-serial: fix slab-out-of-bounds on RX FIFO buffer Driver's probe allocates memory for RX FIFO (port->rx_fifo) based on default RX FIFO depth, e.g. 16. Later during serial startup the qcom_geni_serial_port_setup() updates the RX FIFO depth (port->rx_fifo_depth) to match real device capabilities, e.g. to 32. The RX UART handle code will read "port->rx_fifo_depth" number of words into "port->rx_fifo" buffer, thus exceeding the bounds. This can be observed in certain configurations with Qualcomm Bluetooth HCI UART device and KASAN: Bluetooth: hci0: QCA Product ID :0x00000010 Bluetooth: hci0: QCA SOC Version :0x400a0200 Bluetooth: hci0: QCA ROM Version :0x00000200 Bluetooth: hci0: QCA Patch Version:0x00000d2b Bluetooth: hci0: QCA controller version 0x02000200 Bluetooth: hci0: QCA Downloading qca/htbtfw20.tlv bluetooth hci0: Direct firmware load for qca/htbtfw20.tlv failed with error -2 Bluetooth: hci0: QCA Failed to request file: qca/htbtfw20.tlv (-2) Bluetooth: hci0: QCA Failed to download patch (-2) ================================================================== BUG: KASAN: slab-out-of-bounds in handle_rx_uart+0xa8/0x18c Write of size 4 at addr ffff279347d578c0 by task swapper/0/0 CPU: 0 PID: 0 Comm: swapper/0 Not tainted 6.1.0-rt5-00350-gb2450b7e00be-dirty #26 Hardware name: Qualcomm Technologies, Inc.
