CVE-2026-74618 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-08-25 5.5 Medium
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: binfmt_misc: don't warn when the mount is completed from another user namespace fsopen() records the caller's user namespace in fc->user_ns and hands back an ordinary file descriptor. Nothing ties the task that calls fsconfig(FSCONFIG_CMD_CREATE) to the task that created the context. The fd is inherited across fork() and exec() and it can be passed over a unix socket. Completing a context from another user namespace is allowed on purpose. vfs_cmd_create() authorizes the create with mount_capable(), which for FS_USERNS_MOUNT checks ns_capable(fc->user_ns, CAP_SYS_ADMIN), and that succeeds for a task holding CAP_SYS_ADMIN in an ancestor of fc->user_ns. So an unprivileged task can reach the WARN_ON() in bm_fill_super(): create a user and a mount namespace in a child, call fsopen("binfmt_misc") there, send the fscontext fd to the parent and let the parent issue FSCONFIG_CMD_CREATE. Both namespaces come from a plain unshare(1) and no capability is needed anywhere: WARNING: fs/binfmt_misc.c:938 at bm_fill_super+0xa2/0xc0 [binfmt_misc] CPU: 15 UID: 1000 PID: 3243382 Comm: fswarn Call Trace: get_tree_keyed+0x7d/0xb0 bm_get_tree+0x34/0x90 [binfmt_misc] vfs_get_tree+0x2a/0x100 vfs_cmd_create+0x60/0xf0 __do_sys_fsconfig+0x4b2/0x500 The child needs the mount namespace because fsopen() itself gates on may_mount(), which asks for CAP_SYS_ADMIN in the user namespace owning the caller's mount namespace. fsconfig() doesn't repeat that check. It is a WARN_ON() and not a WARN_ON_ONCE(), so the condition can be raised in a loop to taint the kernel and flood the log, and it panics a kernel booted with panic_on_warn. Keep refusing the mount and stop warning about it. Nothing in bm_fill_super() depends on the two namespaces matching, it derives everything from sb->s_user_ns.
CVE-2026-74620 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-08-25 5.5 Medium
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: net/sched: act_gact, act_police: range check the fallback control action tcf_action_check_ctrlact() range checks the primary control action: if (!opcode) ret = action > TC_ACT_VALUE_MAX ? -EINVAL : 0; TC_ACT_VALUE_MAX is TC_ACT_TRAP, so kernel-internal verdicts above it cannot be set that way. But act_gact and act_police each carry a second, independent control action supplied by user space that never reaches that helper - TCA_GACT_PROB.paction and TCA_POLICE_RESULT. Both only reject TC_ACT_GOTO_CHAIN, so any other value is stored verbatim and returned verbatim from the action. In particular user space can store TC_ACT_CONSUMED, which is TC_ACT_VALUE_MAX + 1 and is deliberately not part of the UAPI value range. That verdict tells every caller the action took ownership of the skb, so nobody frees it: sch_handle_ingress(), sch_handle_egress() and tcf_qevent_handle() all deliberately skip the free for it. The result is one leaked sk_buff plus its data buffer per packet traversing the filter, unbounded, for all traffic on the chain including kernel-generated packets. Both are trivially deterministic. act_gact clamps tcfg_pval to >= 1, so with pval = 1 gact_determ() returns the fallback for every packet. act_police has no mandatory rate, so rate = 0 leaves tcfp_mtu = ~0 and tcf_police_mtu_check() always passes. TC_ACT_CONSUMED was added by commit 720f22fed81b ("net: sched: refactor reinsert action"), after both goto-chain guards were written: commit 9469f375ab09 ("net/sched: act_gact: disallow 'goto chain' on fallback control action") and commit c08f5ed5d625 ("net/sched: act_police: disallow 'goto chain' on fallback control action"). Neither guard was widened when the new verdict appeared. Factor the existing range test out of tcf_action_check_ctrlact() as tcf_action_valid() and apply it to both fallbacks. The helper cannot call tcf_action_check_ctrlact() directly because that also allocates a goto_chain, which is exactly what these two sites must not do. Reproduced on v7.2-rc6: kmemleak reports one leaked 232-byte skbuff_head_cache object plus its 704-byte data buffer per packet. With this patch both configurations are rejected with -EINVAL and kmemleak reports none.
CVE-2026-74622 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-08-25 5.5 Medium
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: net: atlantic: free RX pages of consumed but not refilled buffers aq_ring_rx_deinit() only walks [sw_head, sw_tail), the region posted to hardware. Since the page reuse strategy was added, a cleaned RX buffer keeps its page (and its DMA mapping) in the ring for reuse, and refill is batched: aq_ring_rx_fill() returns early until AQ_CFG_RX_REFILL_THRES slots are free. Slots that were consumed but not yet reposted therefore sit in the complementary [sw_tail, sw_head) gap with a live page, and the deinit walk never visits them: up to a refill batch worth of pages and DMA mappings leak on every interface down. Walk the whole ring instead and release whatever is still there. Also bail out if the buffer ring is already gone: a partial aq_ptp_ring_alloc() failure frees the ring but leaves aq_nic set, so aq_ptp_ring_deinit() still gets here on the unwind path.
CVE-2026-74626 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-08-25 7.5 High
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: NTB: ntb_netdev: Preserve RX queue depth on allocation failure ntb_netdev_rx_handler() hands the received skb to the network stack before allocating its replacement. If the allocation fails, nothing is reposted. Every failure therefore takes one buffer out of the RX queue while the interface remains up, and enough failures eventually stall reception. A retry path could refill the queue later, but ntb_netdev has none. Allocate the replacement first instead. If that fails, drop the packet and repost the same skb. This keeps the queue full and lets packet delivery resume as soon as memory is available again.
CVE-2026-74636 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-08-25 5.5 Medium
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: tracing: Fix race between update_event_fields and, event_define_fields The following sequence may leads race between event_define_fields() and update_event_fields(): CPU0 (loads module A) CPU1 (loads module B) =============================== =============================== load_module(A) load_module(B) notifier_call_chain notifier_call_chain trace_module_notify trace_module_notify mutex_lock(&event_mutex) trace_event_update_all() trace_module_add_events(A) down_write(&trace_event_sem) __register_event(call_A) __add_event_to_tracers(call_A) event_define_fields(call_A) for each f: list_for_each_entry(field, list_add(&f->link, &class->fields, link) &class->fields) field = class->fields->next; Where access to the class->fields is not protected by the event_mutex in trace_event_update_all(). CVE-2026-74642 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-08-25 5.5 Medium
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: ALSA: usb: Fix UAF at delayed release of MIDI2 EPs The recent fix for UAF in ump_to_endpoint() caused another UAF because it tries to dereference the UMP endpoint object, but this might be executed at a delayed context where the endpoint has been already released. Add private_free to clear the associated data for avoiding the further dereference for delayed releases.
CVE-2026-74694 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-08-25 5.5 Medium
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: net/ncsi: fix heap OOB read in NCSI_CMD_SEND_CMD payload length ncsi_send_cmd_nl() takes the number of bytes to copy from the attacker-controlled ncsi_pkt_hdr.length field of the in-band packet header, while the source buffer is the NCSI_ATTR_DATA netlink attribute whose readable size is nla_len() - sizeof(ncsi_pkt_hdr). The two length sources are never cross-checked: only nla_len() >= sizeof(struct ncsi_pkt_hdr) is enforced. With hdr->length set larger than the attribute payload (up to 65535 against at most 2032 readable bytes), ncsi_cmd_handler_oem() copies past the end of the netlink attribute buffer with unsafe_memcpy(), leaking up to ~64KB of kernel heap memory into the transmitted NCSI command packet. The destination skb is sized by the declared payload, so the write side does not overflow - this is a pure OOB read / information leak, reachable with CAP_NET_ADMIN on systems with a registered NCSI device (e.g. OpenBMC on Aspeed BMC SoCs, where NET_NCSI=y is standard). Reject commands whose declared payload extends past the end of the data attribute. The issue was found by the autokbug dynamic kernel fuzzer at Tencent Yunding Lab.
CVE-2026-74699 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-08-25 5.5 Medium
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: drm/xe: Fix memory leak in exec_queue_set_hang_replay_state() The q->replay_state is blindly overwritten, which can potentially leak memory that was previously allocated by vmemdup_user(). Return an error if q->replay_state is not empty. Discovered using AI-assisted static analysis confirmed by Intel Product Security. (cherry picked from commit f6b6cc1118bdbc4265fa8b3bdf8565b26f13e56e)
CVE-2026-74704 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-08-25 8.2 High
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: net/sched: sch_cake: drop WARN_ON(1) for malformed packets in ACK filter The sch_cake ACK filter parses packets to find the TCP header and filter duplicated ACKs if the flow is backlogged. The parsing code contains a WARN_ON(1) which can be triggered by a malformed IP header in certain cases. Depending on the system configuration, this leads either to either spamming dmesg with warnings, or a panic if panic_on_warn is set. The code already correctly skips the offending packet in the branch that triggers the warning, so the WARN_ON itself doesn't really serve any purpose. So just drop it altogether to avoid the inconvenient side effects.
CVE-2024-45229 2 Versa, Versa-networks 2 Director, Versa Director 2026-08-25 N/A
The Versa Director offers REST APIs for orchestration and management. By design, certain APIs, such as the login screen, banner display, and device registration, do not require authentication. However, it was discovered that for Directors directly connected to the Internet, one of these APIs can be exploited by injecting invalid arguments into a GET request, potentially exposing the authentication tokens of other currently logged-in users. These tokens can then be used to invoke additional APIs on port 9183. This exploit does not disclose any username or password information. Currently, there are no workarounds in Versa Director. However, if there is Web Application Firewall (WAF) or API Gateway fronting the Versa Director, it can be used to block access to the URLs of vulnerable API. /vnms/devicereg/device/* (on ports 9182 & 9183) and /versa/vnms/devicereg/device/* (on port 443). Versa recommends that Directors be upgraded to one of the remediated software versions. This vulnerability is not exploitable on Versa Directors not exposed to the Internet. We have validated that no Versa-hosted head ends have been affected by this vulnerability. Please contact Versa Technical Support or Versa account team for any further assistance.
CVE-2026-12992 1 Redhat 2 Apicurio Registry, Build Of Apicurio Registry 2026-08-25 7.4 High
A flaw was found in Apicurio Registry. The WSDLReaderAccessor creates a wsdl4j WSDLReader without disabling the javax.wsdl.importDocuments feature. When the VALIDITY rule is set to FULL, an attacker with Developer-role access can upload a WSDL document containing attacker-controlled import locations, causing the registry to issue HTTP requests to arbitrary internal URLs (server-side request forgery).
CVE-2026-12975 1 Redhat 2 Apicurio Registry, Build Of Apicurio Registry 2026-08-25 8.5 High
A flaw was found in Apicurio Registry. The ContentTypeUtil.isParsableXml() method creates a SAXParserFactory without enabling secure processing features or disabling external entity resolution. An attacker with artifact-write permission (or unauthenticated when the registry runs with default configuration) can upload a crafted XML document to trigger blind server-side request forgery (SSRF) via external DTD/entity fetch, or cause denial of service via entity expansion.
CVE-2025-23171 2 Versa, Versa-networks 2 Director, Versa Director 2026-08-25 7.2 High
The Versa Director SD-WAN orchestration platform provides an option to upload various types of files. The Versa Director does not correctly limit file upload permissions. The UI appears not to allow file uploads but uploads still succeed. In addition, the Versa Director discloses the full filename of uploaded temporary files, including the UUID prefix. Insecure UCPE image upload in Versa Director allows an authenticated attacker to upload a webshell. Exploitation Status: Versa Networks is not aware of any reported instance where this vulnerability was exploited. Proof of concept for this vulnerability has been disclosed by third party security researchers. Workarounds or Mitigation: There are no workarounds to disable the GUI option. Versa recommends that Director be upgraded to one of the remediated software versions.

CVE-2026-79672 1 Ech0 1 Ech0 2026-08-25 5.5 Medium
Ech0 before 4.4.3 fails to enforce scope-based authorization on nine comment panel admin endpoints, allowing access tokens with minimal scopes to perform full comment moderation operations. Attackers with a limited-scope access token can list, approve, reject, delete comments, and modify comment system settings by directly accessing the unprotected panel endpoints.
CVE-2026-79667 2 Ech0, Lin-snow 2 Ech0, Ech0 2026-08-25 7.6 High
Ech0 version 4.3.4 and earlier fails to reliably enforce scoped access token (least-privilege) restrictions on several privileged admin routes. Multiple privileged endpoints (e.g., /api/inbox, /api/panel/comments, /api/backup/export) omit scope checks and authorize based only on the user's admin role, and the backup export handler discards token scope metadata entirely. An attacker holding a deliberately limited (low-scope) admin access token can reach broader privileged functionality than intended, including reading the inbox and exporting a full database backup ZIP archive. Fixed in 4.4.3.
