| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
xfrm: Wait for RCU readers during policy netns exit
xfrm_policy_fini() frees the policy_bydst hash tables after flushing the
policy work items and deleting all policies, but it does not wait for
concurrent RCU readers to leave their read-side critical sections first.
The policy_bydst tables are published via rcu_assign_pointer() and are
looked up through rcu_dereference_check(), so netns teardown must also
wait for an RCU grace period before freeing the table memory.
Fix this by adding synchronize_rcu() before freeing the policy hash tables. |

| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
sched_ext: Disable preemption between scx_claim_exit() and kicking helper work
scx_claim_exit() atomically sets exit_kind, which prevents scx_error() from
triggering further error handling. After claiming exit, the caller must kick
the helper kthread work which initiates bypass mode and teardown.
If the calling task gets preempted between claiming exit and kicking the
helper work, and the BPF scheduler fails to schedule it back (since error
handling is now disabled), the helper work is never queued, bypass mode
never activates, tasks stop being dispatched, and the system wedges.
Disable preemption across scx_claim_exit() and the subsequent work kicking
in all callers - scx_disable() and scx_vexit(). Add
lockdep_assert_preemption_disabled() to scx_claim_exit() to enforce the
requirement. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
net/mlx5e: Fix "scheduling while atomic" in IPsec MAC address query
Fix a "scheduling while atomic" bug in mlx5e_ipsec_init_macs() by
replacing mlx5_query_mac_address() with ether_addr_copy() to get the
local MAC address directly from netdev->dev_addr.
The issue occurs because mlx5_query_mac_address() queries the hardware
which involves mlx5_cmd_exec() that can sleep, but it is called from
the mlx5e_ipsec_handle_event workqueue which runs in atomic context.
The MAC address is already available in netdev->dev_addr, so no need
to query hardware. This avoids the sleeping call and resolves the bug.

| KVM in the Linux kernel on Power8 processors has a conflicting use of HSTATE_HOST_R1 to store r1 state in kvmppc_hv_entry plus in kvmppc_{save,restore}_tm, leading to a stack corruption. Because of this, an attacker with the ability run code in kernel space of a guest VM can cause the host kernel to panic. There were two commits that, according to the reporter, introduced the vulnerability: f024ee098476 ("KVM: PPC: Book3S HV: Pull out TM state save/restore into separate procedures") 87a11bb6a7f7 ("KVM: PPC: Book3S HV: Work around XER[SO] bug in fake suspend mode") The former landed in 4.8, the latter in 4.17.
