| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
proc: protect ptrace_may_access() with exec_update_lock (part 1)
Fix the easy cases where procfs currently calls ptrace_may_access() without
exec_update_lock protection, where the fix is to simply add the extra lock
or use mm_access():
- do_task_stat(): grab exec_update_lock
- proc_pid_wchan(): grab exec_update_lock
- proc_map_files_lookup(): use mm_access() instead of get_task_mm()
- proc_map_files_readdir(): use mm_access() instead of get_task_mm()
- proc_ns_get_link(): grab exec_update_lock
- proc_ns_readlink(): grab exec_update_lock |

| The web server binary /bin/httpd contains a hidden backdoor authentication mechanism in the login() function at 004c88b8.
- The function contains a normal authentication path using MD5/hash-based password verification (prod_encode64/PasswordToMd5/check_rand_key).
- After normal authentication fails, it calls GetValue("sys.rzadmin.password") to read a backdoor password from the device configuration.
- It performs a direct strcmp() comparison (plaintext, not hashed) between the config value and the user-supplied password.
A successful match grants role=2 (admin-level access) and creates a valid session. The rzadmin username is never checked — any username works with the backdoor |
| The WP Travel Engine WordPress plugin before 6.8.1 does not properly validate the source of a user-supplied profile image path before moving the file, allowing authenticated users with subscriber-level access and above to relocate arbitrary files within the WordPress uploads directory into their own profile-image path. This removes the targeted media from its original location and can break content across the site. |

| A user authenticating to Kubernetes clusters via the Pinniped Supervisor could potentially gain elevated permissions in the clusters, only if all the following conditions were true: the Pinniped Supervisor server is running with an ActiveDirectoryIdentityProvider resource configured; the ActiveDirectoryIdentityProvider.spec.groupSearch.attributes.groupName is empty; the attacker gains the ability to edit some part of the distinguished name (DN) of group entries in the Active Directory (AD) server's database for groups to which they belong; the configured group search parameters cause the edited group to be included in the group search results for the user; and the attacker knows the password for an AD user who belongs to the edited AD group.
Affected versions: Pinniped (go.pinniped.dev) v0.11.0 through v0.46.0 inclusive; fixed in v0.47.0. |
| A reachable assertion vulnerability exists in the Matter SDK (connectedhomeip) before 1.4.0, in the interaction model command processing logic. When an InvokeCommandRequest is sent to a nonexistent endpoint and cluster (e.g., 0x34), the code incorrectly treats the endpoint as valid due to missing checks in CodegenDataModelProvider::Invoke. This causes a VerifyOrDie failure in ProcessCommandDataIB and results in a crash (SIGABRT). The issue has been acknowledged and fixed in a later revision (PR #37207). |
