CVSS v3.1 |
| A temporary file creation vulnerability in the Linux version of Lenovo XClarity Essentials OneCLI 5.5.0 and below could allow a local low-privileged attacker to overwrite or truncate arbitrary local files with program-generated data when OneCLI is executed with elevated privileges. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
net: ntb_netdev: Move ntb_netdev_rx_handler() to call netif_rx() from __netif_rx()
The following is emitted when using idxd (DSA) dmanegine as the data
mover for ntb_transport that ntb_netdev uses.

The cause is due to the idxd driver interrupt completion handler uses
threaded interrupt and the threaded handler is not hard or soft interrupt
context. However __netif_rx() can only be called from interrupt context.
Change the call to netif_rx() in order to allow completion via normal
context for dmaengine drivers that utilize threaded irq handling.
While the following commit changed from netif_rx() to __netif_rx(),
baebdf48c360 ("net: dev: Makes sure netif_rx() can be invoked in any context."),
the change should've been a noop instead. However, the code precedes this
fix should've been using netif_rx_ni() or netif_rx_any_context(). |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
vsock: remove vsock from connected table when connect is interrupted by a signal
vsock_connect() expects that the socket could already be in the
TCP_ESTABLISHED state when the connecting task wakes up with a signal
pending. If this happens the socket will be in the connected table, and
it is not removed when the socket state is reset. In this situation it's
common for the process to retry connect(), and if the connection is
successful the socket will be added to the connected table a second
time, corrupting the list.
Prevent this by calling vsock_remove_connected() if a signal is received
while waiting for a connection. This is harmless if the socket is not in
the connected table, and if it is in the table then removing it will
prevent list corruption from a double add.
Note for backporting: this patch requires d5afa82c977e ("vsock: correct
removal of socket from the list"), which is in all current stable trees
except 4.9.y. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
drm/amd/amdkfd: Fix kernel panic when reset failed and been triggered again
In SRIOV configuration, the reset may failed to bring asic back to normal but stop cpsch
already been called, the start_cpsch will not be called since there is no resume in this
case. When reset been triggered again, driver should avoid to do uninitialization again. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
mm, thp: bail out early in collapse_file for writeback page
Currently collapse_file does not explicitly check PG_writeback, instead,
page_has_private and try_to_release_page are used to filter writeback
pages. This does not work for xfs with blocksize equal to or larger
than pagesize, because in such case xfs has no page->private.
This makes collapse_file bail out early for writeback page. Otherwise,
xfs end_page_writeback will panic as follows.

Kernel panic - not syncing: Oops - BUG: Fatal exception in interrupt |
| A vulnerability in the web-based management interface of an ECOS device could allow a highly privileged, authenticated remote attacker to access the device's filesystem. Successful exploitation of this vulnerability could allow an attacker to access sensitive files and tamper with or delete system data. |
| Flameshot is powerful yet simple to use screenshot software. Prior to 14.0.0, the Open With feature wrote screenshots to a predictable temporary path and followed symlinks, creating a time-of-check to time-of-use race that allowed a local unprivileged attacker on the same machine to pre-plant a symlink and cause Flameshot to write PNG data through it, overwriting any file the victim user could write. This issue is fixed in version 14.0.0. |
| The servereye client (also known as sensorhub, technically ClientAgentContainerService) versions 20.15 and earlier are vulnerable to Local Privilege Escalation. The high-privileged service SE3Recovery (EmergencyRecoveryService.exe), running as SYSTEM, periodically monitors the directory %ProgramData%\ServerEye3\update\ for a trigger file named "update_available". Due to insufficient access restrictions on this directory, a local standard user can create the trigger file and provide a path to a directory containing malicious JSON instructions. The service subsequently executes the utility UpdaterAction.exe with SYSTEM privileges, which parses the instructions and performs an unvalidated file copy from a user-controlled source to a protected system destination (e.g., overwriting a service binary). This leads to full system compromise as the service automatically restarts the overwritten binary with SYSTEM privileges. |
| A vulnerability has been found in HdrHistogram up to 2.2.2. This vulnerability affects the function recordValueWithCount of the file src/main/java/org/HdrHistogram/AbstractHistogram.java of the component AbstractHistogram. Such manipulation of the argument Count leads to state issue. The attack can only be performed from a local environment. The exploit has been disclosed to the public and may be used. The existence of this vulnerability is still disputed at present. This issue is disputed due to the potential lack of crossing of security boundaries and the pre-requisites for a successful attack. |
| WinRAR 5.61 contains a denial of service vulnerability that allows local attackers to crash the application by placing a malformed winrar.lng language file in the installation directory. Attackers can trigger the crash by opening an archive and pressing the test button, causing an access violation at memory address 004F1DB8 when the application attempts to read invalid data. |
| osquery is a SQL powered operating system instrumentation, monitoring, and analytics framework. Prior to 5.23.1, an unprivileged attacker can read the contents of an osquery file carve until the carve completes and the temporary files are deleted because in-progress carve directories are not created with private permissions. If the carve targets a directory that the attacker controls, arbitrary file reads are possible, such as sensitive local files. This issue is fixed in version 5.23.1. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
net: cpsw_new: Fix potential unregister of netdev that has not been registered yet
If an error occurs during register_netdev() for the first MAC in
cpsw_register_ports(), even though cpsw->slaves[0].ndev is set to NULL,
cpsw->slaves[1].ndev would remain unchanged. This could later cause
cpsw_unregister_ports() to attempt unregistering the second MAC.
To address this, add a check for ndev->reg_state before calling
unregister_netdev(). With this change, setting cpsw->slaves[i].ndev
to NULL becomes unnecessary and can be removed accordingly. |
| A flaw was found in Podman. In a Containerfile or Podman, data written to RUN --mount=type=bind mounts during the podman build is not discarded. This issue can lead to files created within the container appearing in the temporary build context directory on the host, leaving the created files accessible. |
| Claude Code is an agentic coding tool. From 2.1.59 until 2.1.128, the Claude Code /copy command wrote responses to a hardcoded, predictable path (/tmp/claude/response.md) without UID isolation, randomness, or symlink protection. The file was created world-readable (0644) in a world-traversable directory (0755), allowing any local user to read a privileged user's Claude response, which could contain secrets or credentials. Additionally, because the path was static and predictable, a local attacker could pre-create the directory and plant a symlink at the expected file path, causing the privileged process to follow the symlink and overwrite an attacker-chosen file with the response text. Exploiting this required a local unprivileged user on the same system and a privileged user to run the /copy command. This vulnerability is fixed in 2.1.128. |
| GNU gzip contains a vulnerability in the gzexe utility related to insecure temporary file handling. When the mktemp utility is not available in the user’s PATH, gzexe falls back to constructing a temporary file path based solely on the process ID (PID). This predictable filename is created without exclusive access or existence checks.
A local attacker can pre‑create the predicted temporary file path as a symbolic link pointing to an arbitrary file writable by the victim. When gzexe runs, it follows the symlink and overwrites the target file, resulting in a time‑of‑check to time‑of‑use (TOCTOU) condition that allows arbitrary file overwrite.
This issue has been fixed in the commit 4e6f8b24ab823146ab8776f0b7fe486ab34d4269 |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
dm cache policy smq: check allocation under invalidate lock
commit 2d1f7b65f5de ("dm cache policy smq: fix missing locks in
invalidating cache blocks") added mq->lock around the destructive part of
smq_invalidate_mapping(), but left the e->allocated check outside the
critical section.
That leaves a check-then-act race. Two concurrent invalidators can both
observe e->allocated as true before either of them takes mq->lock. The
first invalidator that acquires the lock removes the entry from the
queues and hash table and then calls free_entry(), which clears
e->allocated and puts the entry back on the free list. The second
invalidator can then acquire mq->lock and continue with the stale result
of the unlocked check.
This can corrupt the SMQ queues or hash table by deleting an entry that
is no longer on those structures. It can also hit the allocation check in
free_entry() when the same entry is freed again.
Move the allocation check under mq->lock so the predicate and the
destructive operations are serialized by the same lock. |
| A potential security vulnerability has been identified in the HP Accessory WMI Provider installer for some HP Docking Stations, which might allow escalation of privilege and/or arbitrary code execution. HP is releasing software updates to mitigate the potential vulnerability. |
| Pi is a minimal terminal coding harness. From 0.74.0 until 0.78.1, Pi versions with temporary npm or git extension package installs used predictable paths under the operating system temporary directory. On Linux-based multi-user systems, a local attacker who can write to the shared temporary directory could prepare the expected package location before another user runs pi with a temporary extension package source. Pi could then load attacker-controlled extension code in the victim user's process. This vulnerability is fixed in 0.78.1. |
| Spring Boot's ArtemisEmbeddedConfigurationFactory uses a fixed, static path for the embedded Artemis message broker's data directory when no explicit path is configured. A local attacker on the same host can pre-create this predictable directory or place a symlink before the application starts.
Affected versions:
Spring Boot 4.0.0 through 4.0.6; 3.5.0 through 3.5.14; 3.4.0 through 3.4.16; 3.3.0 through 3.3.19; 2.7.0 through 2.7.33. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
KVM: SVM: Add missing save/restore handling of LBR MSRs
MSR_IA32_DEBUGCTLMSR and LBR MSRs are currently not enumerated by
KVM_GET_MSR_INDEX_LIST, and LBR MSRs cannot be set with KVM_SET_MSRS. So
save/restore is completely broken.
Fix it by adding the MSRs to msrs_to_save_base, and allowing writes to
LBR MSRs from userspace only (as they are read-only MSRs) if LBR
virtualization is enabled. Additionally, to correctly restore L1's LBRs
while L2 is running, make sure the LBRs are copied from the captured
VMCB01 save area in svm_copy_vmrun_state().
Note, for VMX, this also fixes a flaw where MSR_IA32_DEBUGCTLMSR isn't
reported as an MSR to save/restore.
Note #2, over-reporting MSR_IA32_LASTxxx on Intel is ok, as KVM already
handles unsupported reads and writes thanks to commit b5e2fec0ebc3 ("KVM:
Ignore DEBUGCTL MSRs with no effect") (kvm_do_msr_access() will morph the
unsupported userspace write into a nop).
