| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
dm log: fix out-of-bounds write due to region_count overflow
The local variable region_count in create_log_context() is declared as
unsigned int (32-bit), but dm_sector_div_up() returns sector_t (64-bit).
When a device-mapper target has a sufficiently large ti->len with a small
region_size, the division result can exceed UINT_MAX. The truncated
value is then used to calculate bitset_size, causing clean_bits,
sync_bits, and recovering_bits to be allocated far smaller than needed
for the actual number of regions.
Subsequent log operations (log_set_bit, log_clear_bit, log_test_bit) use
region indices derived from the full untruncated region space, causing
out-of-bounds writes to kernel heap memory allocated by vmalloc.
This can be reproduced by creating a mirror target whose region_count
overflows 32 bits:
dmsetup create bigzero --table '0 8589934594 zero'
dmsetup create mymirror --table '0 8589934594 mirror \
core 2 2 nosync 2 /dev/mapper/bigzero 0 \
/dev/mapper/bigzero 0'
The status output confirms the truncation (sync_count=1 instead of
4294967297, because 0x100000001 was truncated to 1):
$ dmsetup status mymirror
0 8589934594 mirror 2 254:1 254:1 1/4294967297 ...
This leads to a kernel crash in core_in_sync:
BUG: scheduling while atomic: (udev-worker)/9150/0x00000000
RIP: 0010:core_in_sync+0x14/0x30 [dm_log]
CR2: 0000000000000008
Fixing recursive fault but reboot is needed!
Fix by widening the local region_count to sector_t and adding an
explicit overflow check before the value is assigned to lc->region_count. |
| iskorotkov/avro is a fast Go Avro codec. Prior to 2.33.0, several Avro decoder paths read attacker-controlled 64-bit values from the wire format and either narrowed them to platform-sized int before bounds-checking, or summed them with overflow-prone signed-int arithmetic. On 32-bit targets (GOARCH=386, arm, mips, wasm, etc.), the truncation paths can silently bypass byte-slice limits, select the wrong union branch, or hit the OCF negative-make panic via wrap. Three sub-issues are not 32-bit-specific: cumulative-size arithmetic overflow in arrayDecoder.Decode / mapDecoder.Decode / mapDecoderUnmarshaler.Decode (wraps at math.MaxInt64 on amd64 / arm64 and bypasses MaxSliceAllocSize / MaxMapAllocSize), math.MinInt negation in block-header handling, and make([]byte, size) with a negative size in OCF block reads — all three panic or bypass caps on any platform, giving an attacker a denial-of-service primitive there. This vulnerability is fixed in 2.33.0. |
| Integer overflow or wraparound in Microsoft Office allows an unauthorized attacker to execute code locally. |
| Integer overflow in ANGLE in Google Chrome on Windows prior to 150.0.7871.46 allowed a remote attacker who had compromised the renderer process to obtain potentially sensitive information from process memory via a crafted HTML page. (Chromium security severity: Medium) |
| Integer overflow in V8 in Google Chrome prior to 150.0.7871.46 allowed a remote attacker to execute arbitrary code inside a sandbox via a crafted HTML page. (Chromium security severity: High) |
| Vim is an open source, command line text editor. Prior to 9.2.0841, prop_add_one() in src/textprop.c uses the proplen value from get_text_props() to increment a uint16_t property count beyond 0xffff, wrapping the count to zero and copying existing text-property records into a heap allocation sized for none of them. This issue is fixed in version 9.2.0841. |
| The Accept PayPal & Stripe with Subscriptions for WooCommerce WordPress plugin through 3.1.0 does not validate the amount actually paid against the order total in its PayPal Data Transfer return handler, allowing a customer to pay less than the order total and still have the order marked as fully paid when the PayPal Data Transfer feature is enabled. |
| A flaw was found in EAP's jboss-remoting. A remote unauthenticated attacker who can reach :8080 (or :9990, or :4447) and complete an Upgrade: jboss-remoting handshake can cause OOM errors that degrade requests server-wide, leading to denial of service. |
| Integer overflow or wraparound in Microsoft Office Outlook allows an unauthorized attacker to execute code over a network. |
| Heap-based buffer overflow in Windows HTTP.sys allows an authorized attacker to elevate privileges locally. |
| A vulnerability in the OSPF protocol of Cisco Secure Firewall ASA Software and Cisco Secure FTD Software could allow an authenticated, adjacent attacker to cause an affected device to reload unexpectedly, resulting in a DoS condition. To exploit this vulnerability, the attacker must have the OSPF secret key.
This vulnerability is due to insufficient input validation when processing OSPF link-state update (LSU) packets. An attacker could exploit this vulnerability by sending crafted OSPF LSU packets. A successful exploit could allow the attacker to corrupt the heap, causing the device to reload, resulting in a DoS condition. |
| A vulnerability in the Modbus preprocessor of the Snort detection engine could allow an unauthenticated, remote attacker to cause a denial of service (DoS) condition on an affected device.
This vulnerability is due to an integer overflow while processing Modbus traffic. An attacker could exploit this vulnerability by sending crafted Modbus traffic through an affected device. A successful exploit could allow the attacker to cause the Snort process to hang, causing traffic inspection to stop.Cisco has released software updates that address this vulnerability. There are no workarounds that address this vulnerability. |
