| The ftpcp() function in Lib/ftplib.py was not updated when
CVE-2021-4189 was fixed. While makepasv() was patched to replace
server-supplied PASV host addresses with the actual peer address
(getpeername()[0]), ftpcp() still calls parse227() directly and passes
the raw attacker-controllable IP address and port to target.sendport(). This patch is related to CVE-2021-4189. |

From version 11.2.1 to before version 12.2.0, passing nested lists as coordinates to APIs that accept coordinates such as ImagePath.Path, ImageDraw.ImageDraw.polygon and ImageDraw.ImageDraw.line could cause a heap buffer overflow, as nested lists were recursively unpacked beyond the allocated buffer. Coordinate lists are now validated to contain exactly two numeric coordinates. This issue has been patched in version 12.2.0. |

| The email module of Python through 3.11.3 incorrectly parses e-mail addresses that contain a special character. The wrong portion of an RFC2822 header is identified as the value of the addr-spec. In some applications, an attacker can bypass a protection mechanism in which application access is granted only after verifying receipt of e-mail to a specific domain (e.g., only @company.example.com addresses may be used for signup). This occurs in email/_parseaddr.py in recent versions of Python. |
